Greetings from Love HQ,

Since the day after our incredible 2007 event, where 85,000 people enjoyed the sun, music, and shared rhythm of dance music's universal vibe, we have been working on continuing to take America's biggest dance music event to the next level.

We are excited to announce the date for this year's San Francisco LoveFest event: Saturday, October 4th, 2008. It's not too early to mark your calendars and make your plans, for this has evolved into a can't miss event for dance music enthusiasts, as well as those who love a good parade and party in the sunshine...

The biggest names in dance music are already lining up for this year's event, but we'll leave those titillating details for a later date. For now, know that our team and community partners and volunteers will continue to bring the love. Float applications will be posted on an updated site on May 1st to give you planners plenty of time to raise the bar. **We recommend you make your hotel reservations now because of a convention in town that weekend!** We'll post travel tips as we have them.

Our Values and Intention

The San Francisco LoveFest is an volunteer non-profit organization. Any profits made from the event go back into next year's event and to participating non-profit organizations. This year's event is a new event that takes into account our alignment with the original vision of the Loveparade events, our experience throwing them the last 2 years, and makes it our own. That vision of a free parade that celebrates music, love, diversity, tolerance, dance, and community is something we believe in strongly, and believe America needs now more than ever. Dance music has always had a special ability to bring people together in the shared beauty of a universal vibe. Our community by and large remains 'underground' in U.S. pop culture due to very little support from radio and MTV, etc. We know that in a culture awash in conflict, materialism, superficial concerns, and greed, an event of this kind can lift the spirits and the hopes of those who to surrender to it's power. The power of dance. The power of music. The power of community. We're taking it to the streets letting the vibe and the cooperation and respect of the people taking part in it be a message of hope in dark times. We intend to make the event a platform for dance music to reach more ears in America and beyond, to carry a message of love and hope, to be a vehicle for helping organizations doing good in the world, and for dancing our asses off surrounded by friendly freaks.
